I am 33 yrs old working as a medical representative in Calcutta in a mnc pharma company where my own sister’s husband is the Country Head.
But I am having these problems-
1) Firstly, even after having exposure to this field for the last 5 years I have disliking for the job as i am not getting any job-satisfaction from the beginning but due to family pressure & economic constraints I had to continue.(This is my 2nd company,in my earlier company which is also an Indian mnc. There also my brother-in-law was the General Manager ,next to Vice-President but here he is at the top position, after the owner). So you can understand he has considerable power to influence my life and parents & he has.
2) Many even my parents don’t think I have any credit.
3)I am having lots of altercations & even sometimes violence with my parents as my parents have been misbehaving with me for more than 8 years.Their reason is I am a good -for- nothing fellow as I have wasted all their money in various courses like I left a full time residential MBA outside my state even after all the semester fees have been paid & then cam back in 2003,then I left lots of computer courses(details will take make these long so I refrain here) spread all over city.
They and my sister & many guys and gals whom I share my problem with ,point out that, I couldn’t make any friends or complete any courses b’coz of certain psychological problem(s).But i protested to these all along
BTW, I am a teetotaler.
2)I feel they ( my parents ,sister & brother-in-law ) have conspired with the help of astrologers & politicians to make me unemployed and after a certain age like 35 if i fail to serve them well as a slave in their company they will throw me out and since I am a bachelor, they will take use of my depression state of mind and prove me mad!! This way my parents will take their revenge of whatever i have done to them or wasted their money. Also they will save their money they wud have to invest on me had i get married. Also they can easily transfer some property right to my sister.
I amreally confused & till now don’t know their exact motive or whther really my parents are bad.
But every time I argue with my father that i will search a new job leaving these present one ,my mother mocks me saying I will never be able to bag any other job in my life & i have to die a beggar.

** And when she says these she says with lots of anger and hated for me as if she is cursing me!!!

And now i feel my doubts are correct .
But in both their line of family, both my mother & father’s side, there are people who have married , though they do not earn anything and they r married too and having children. Even in many families these things happen then why my parents are doing these to me??
3)My brother in law is actually a devil in disguise. In the name of helping me he is pulling the strings behind the curtains & whatever my manager is doing actually my b.i.l. is behind that!!
4)I am pursuing a distance MBA but due to these anxieties I can’t study. Also I dont want to join anymore in the sales profession anywhere else or any other sales industry at all.
Also, if he is in such a good position why did he not allow me to study more and then give me job?
How can I amke new friends at this age who can help me like a bosom friend?
Why this is happening to me?
I know all these sounds strange but it’s 100% true.
I also have no friends or girlfriends to share my sorrow with.
So under such and various other problems ,should I think of continuing this job anymore?
Please advice me generously.

I know that to be successful in real estate, you dont really need a bachelor’s degree, but i have the gi bill and i dont want to waste it. i’d like to work for a company as a property manager, preferably managing multifamily residential properties, while investing in real estate in my spare time. i figure that would give me the experience i need to one day quit my job and invest in real estate full time. i have a nice wad of cash sitting in mutual funds right now, but i plan to use it to buy my first property when i feel like i know what im doing.

i have been trying to decide what to major in that would make me a better analyst and manager. i’ve been considering accounting, finance, and economics (in that order). i figure if i go with accounting, even if the real estate industry isn’t hiring, i can still get a job doing accounting work while investing on the side. i think majoring in finance or economics will make me a better analyst and give me a better understanding of how the market works, but i dont think either are as marketable as an accounting degree. idk, what do you think?

For the first time, I find myself at a crossroads I have never experienced before. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated. (The story will be long…so thanks in advance for your time in reading it).

I am currently a Residential Property Manager, living and working in the Philadelphia suburbs. I have been in Property Management for 13 years (10 years in Los Angeles and 3 years in PA). I have been with my current employer just over 3 yrs. I work for a small company, basically it’s me and the owner. Lets call the owner “B”. My FT salary is not enough to cover all of my monthly expenses, so I’ve been bleeding money every month, since I got here.

I’ve stayed with “B” for a few reasons: First, “B” is self-made millionaire and I am learning how he did it and how he maintains it, which I believe to be an invaluable experience that could not be had anywhere else. Second, I have a strong sense of loyalty and do not want to walk out and leave him in a bad spot.

The first change “B” made (and it was done with no warning what-so-ever) was to cut my hours in-half (from FT to 20 hrs a week). Because of this, instead of the minimal amount of bleeding, that I have been putting up with, it is now substantial and un-sustainable. At this rate I will completely broke in 3 months. Also because of this change, extremely important tasks are not getting done, due to the lack of time. Many facets of the company are already in complete dis-array and it’s only a matter of time before things get even worse. I really hate to see this happening and both of these items bother me equally as much.

About a week after “B” made that shocking change, there was suddenly someone new in the office. A long time friend of my boss’, who is the COO is a software company (currently). Lets call him “A”. “A” immediately took over all the leasing activities and is slowly making other procedural changes to the company, not only to what I do, but with the maintenance guys, as well. “A” stays here for a week, than goes “home” to his other job/family for 4 days, then returns again.

Just this last week, now there is another new person in the office. Lets call her “M”. “M” was presented to me as someone who was there to “help with the filing and administrative tasks”. However, “M” seems to be doing more than that. On Friday I was asked to teach “M” how to do the payables and “A” took her on an all-day tour of all the properties. On a side note: “M” is as sweet a pie to “B” and “A”, but has been abrasive, rude and full of attitude with me.

So, my first question is: What is going on here? None of these changes make any sense. Everything was running smoothly and efficiently before these changes and all these changes have done is create chaos and disaster. (I’m the type of person that would recognize/admit if there was something wrong with my performance. There wasn’t. Everything was in good order, just as it has been for the last 3 yrs).

So, now I’m presented with a cross-roads, as to what I should do now. Obviously, I cannot continue like this and allow myself to spiral into bankruptcy!

But, before you answer that questions, I need add some more information.

In February, I got my license and become a REALTOR. My only real client at this point, is “B”. Who, despite what is going on, is still making offers on new properties (which means commissions for me). Trying to get new clients (other than “B” has been very difficult and has not gone well).

A little about my background:

I have a BS in Business Administration and a BS in Information Technology.

Despite that training, one thing I have always wanted to do is be a truck driver (don’t ask — just something I always thought I would like). I should mention that I have never liked Property Management, nor have I ever been truly happy doing it. I came very close to becoming a trucker years ago, but due to family circumstances I got shuffled into the being a Property Manager and have just stayed with it.

What is available to me right now:

My best friend (and godson) live in Gainesville, FL. Whenever I want to leave, I have a home waiting for me there.

Unfortunately, from what I can tell looking at job boards, Gainesville does not seem to be a hot bed of great jobs and I haven’t the slightest idea of the condition of the RE market there.

On the plus side: I have a home waiting for me, people that are closer to me than my family waiting for me and the cost of living in Gainesville is almost half of what it is here (e.g. most things are half the cost there, versus here in Philly).

With all this being said: If it were you, what would you think and do? Should I try to secure a job

i need commercial and residential

This commercial area sells furniture, but has since gone out of business since August 2009.

Within the parking lot, there is a walled off dumpster with a locked gate which is right next to my driveway. After going out of business, several mattresses, bed frames, wooden planks, etc. have been tossed into this dumpster. I was expecting Waste Management to dispose of all this within a couple of days, but after a month, the trash was still there.

I contacted the city, but since I live in an unincorporated part of town, they said they couldn’t do anything about it and that I’d have to contact Waste Management directly. I did just that - WM told me that I’d have to contact the property manager/owner to schedule a cleanup date with them. I’ve called and left several messages with no response.

Now, the gate has been picked and people have been throwing their own trash into dumpster - so much trash that it’s overflowed and spewing onto the parking lot. There is A LOT of trash; the stench is horrendous and flies are everywhere. Garbage bags, food scraps, glass, tires, even home appliances just lay on this parking lot. Homeless people have been going through the trash and sleeping on these tossed out mattresses as well. I’ve called the city again to tell them the urgency to clean this up. They’re “working on it.”

It’s been almost 1 year and nothing has been done. I’m quite fed up. What do I do?

We were hired a year ago the property went into foreclosure and the Receiver kept us on all this time, in Jan they said the bank did not want to fund the property and we would not be getting paid anymore. They came back in Feb and said what is your schedule like for moving out? We said we dont have one seeing how you never said we had to. We have not heard anything since Feb 19, now we have received eviction papers May 15th. My husband and I have not gotten our cash pay since Feb 13, but we have kept the property secure and my husband has kept up the maintenance. Can anyone help or have answers? We feel like we should be given more time to try and find employment or given money to move out..I can’t find any info on evictions for Residential Managers nor do we have the money for an attorney..

Ok, so I am trying to help my boyfriend make a resume. Here it is so far. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I would be happy to take them. Please note, it is in poor form, because I copied it from the monster site. I just need better wording on the description part of the resume.
