I originally bought 2 lots in a gated community and paid quarterly dues on each lot. When the time came to build a house on the land, the house had to be situated right on the property line dividing the 2 lots….so it sits on both lots. I then went down to the County Recorder and combined both lots into one. The property management company at the time, approved my request to pay dues on only one lot since my original 2 lots became 1 combined property. My question is, can a future HOA Board require me to pay dues on the 2 former lots I owned instead of one set of dues on the combined lots?
